Ingredients
- 2 green or light green (unripe) plantains
- 1 Tbsp avocado oil
- 1/2 tsp salt (or to taste)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (204°C).
- Peel the plantains by cutting off both ends and slicing down the length of the skin along the natural ridges. Then, remove the peel.
- Slice the plantains into thin disks using a knife or mandoline.
- In a medium bowl, toss the plantains with the oil and salt.
- Arrange the plantains on a lined baking sheet, ensuring they don’t overlap.
- Bake for 30 minutes or until crispy and slightly golden, keeping an eye to remove any that begin to brown.
- Remove from the oven and allow to cool on the baking sheet. The plantain chips will crisp further as they cool. Add more salt if needed.
