Simple Marinara Sauce

A simple marinara with a balanced richness that is perfect for any pasta

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp avocado oil for the pan
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 15 oz can tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp sugar or honey to balance the acidity (optional)
  • 2 tsp olive oil

Instructions

  • Heat the avocado oil over medium heat in a medium saucepan.
  • Add the minced garlic and cook for about 1-2 minutes, until fragrant, but be careful not to burn it.
  • Pour in the tomato sauce and stir to combine with the garlic.
  • Add the dried oregano and salt to taste. Stir well.
  • Optional: add 1/2 tsp of sugar or honey to balance the acidity.
  • Lower the heat and let the sauce simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally to allow the flavors to meld together.
  • Turn off the heat and drizzle with olive oil.
  • Serve with your favorite pasta.
