Make a balsamic reduction by simmering the balsamic vinegar in a saucepan until it has reduced by about half, typically 10-15 minutes. Allow the vinegar to cool, as it will thicken further.
Arrange the tomato, mozzarella, and basil on a plate, alternating between each. You may make single stacks of each or long rows.
Drizzle the balsamic reduction over the salad.
Sprinkle with salt.
